Unfortunately, there were fires in and near Zion, so many of my pictures are quite smoky. It's hard to imagine just how huge the canyon formations are without seeing them firsthand. But I think some of the pictures came out well enough.
Beautiful weather -- warm, but not too warm, and now, here in Cortez, Colorado, I have thunderstorms, wind, lightning and the grey buttes just outside Mesa Verde. Other than finishing the HP book today, nothing eventful. Been on the road since 7:30 this morning, got in around 5 and got a great hotel room on a reservation for $50 that's a lot nicer than the Holiday Inn room I stayed in last night. Plus, it's at a casino. I think I'll go play some blackjack. See if I can win enough to pay for part of the trip!

I just finished the HP book as well. what did you think?
I thought ... a little bit of a cop out. But she remained true to her core readership, which is still teenagers. But in all that fighting, with fierce, frightening Death Eaters, I would have expected more deaths. And to kill both Remus and Tonks right after they had a baby? That just sucked.
But I thought it was a good story that wrapped up all the loose ends except one: What the hell do Harry, Ron and Hermione end up doing for a living? Does Harry become an auror as he wished? Does he become a garbage collector? Are they just given tons of gold to live on forever because they are heroes?
And you? What did you think?
I loved everything about it. I thought molly fighting bellatrix was fantastic.
I agree about wanting to know more about what they do for a living.
Nevelle Longbottom is my hero.
I loved that, too. And the last showdown between Harry and Voldemort. Well done.
I wanna baby buffalo!! He's really CUTE!
Look at his little baby buffalo butt! Don't you just want to squeeze him? I wanted to steal him!
