My favorite co-worker...

... is one I've never spoken to. He sits in the back corner of the room, and actually, I'm not even sure what he does.

I know one thing about him:

1. He has a shelf full of "Lord of the Rings" action figures over his CPU, including Gandalf, Gollum and Sauron's fiery eye. I call his corner "The Land of Mordor," but see no reason to go over there. Sauron's eye watches me all day. But I can also see Gandalf, which is reassuring. I wonder if he plays with them after we are all gone for the day.

I so appreciate people's harmless obsessions.

Ya know, that same co-worker may harbor simiar thoughts about you based on the Robin Zander altar you have set up in your cubicle.

You may never talk to eachother.

It would be true, except I hvae not one piece of CT memorabilia at my desk.

And it's true -- I DO appreciate people's harmless obsessions. Hell, I have a few of my own.

I just wish he'd move the fiery eye to the other side of Gandalf. I like Gandalf so much better.

Awesome!

When the videos were first coming out G wanted the super deluxe set with the bookends of the giant statues on either side of the river entering Gondor.

I had to ask him what he planned to do with them. Keep them in the living room?

We only got the regular deluxe set.

But, they would have made such nice art on your mantel.

Yeah, but we are mainly SECRET nerds, or at least that is what we like to think.

Awww, don't hide your nerd light. Let it shine! Nerds are the new cool.

You think your co-workers corner is bad, you should see my ex-wifes living room. The display cabinets are full of LOTR figures, both small and the large sized (12" or more) ones. Plus the various DVD deluxe things, plus signed pictures plus... she kind of liked the whole LOTR thing, y'know? Me, I can't understand that level of obsession... give me my house surrounded by Cheap Trick posters, memorabilia, drumsticks, drumheads... hahahaHAHAHA!

Seriously, I do embrace my geekdom. Or nerddom. Hmmm... which is better, being a geek or a nerd? What do I mean by "better"? More normal? More geeky/nerdy? Oh dear, I think I need to go and lie down wrapped in my checkerboard duvet and listen to the voices in my ear! LOL!

You have a checkerboard duvet cover? I need that.
