And now, a word from Our Lord

I knew our circulation was growing, but we are reaching further than I thought possible.

God Himself felt compelled to comment on my story today about our city council wanting to do away with the bike rallies.

This is my first spring bike hoo-haw, but it's legendary, the number of interesting human behaviors that can be seen without binoculars or night-vision cameras.

A shocked and appalled minister spoke publicly yesterday to express his horror about seeing all manner of shocking things, including public sex acts.

Our online edition allows people to log in and post comments, and apparently, Our Lord is down with the Internets, because "Jehovah" had one word for all the people who couldn't control themselves during the bike rallies.

"Fornicators!" saith The Lord.

I believe He's not messing around.

Looks like Jehovah and His entire flock weighed in your story. But do you think there are more people upset with the violent and lewd behavior than there are those who see an opprtunity to pin such behavior on a particular race? It sounds like a biker and/or youth culture thing that's resulted in that scene though.

Well, I suspect it's a confluence of things. People hate the traffic that comes with bike rallies, the sound of the motorcycles, and some people are just fearful of the bikes themselves, plus, you know, Hell's Angels and other gangs. Some are racist, some are pissed that anyone comes to the MB and trashes it up, some get tired of seeing or hearing about the activities, be it full-body paint on beer girls or naked asses on bike riders, people drunk in public, all that stuff.

But yes, there's definitely racism, and there are comment-board trolls who try to stir the pot, too.

All I really know is that Jehovah has spoken, and it doesn't sound like He's happy.

I bet it was really him. Succinctness is certainly a godly quality.
