I get to go cover the hatching of hundreds of baby loggerhead turtles tonight on a beach in North Carolina. The human "nest parents" will help guide the babbies to the sea, past an area of the beach that has recently been renourished with new sand to make up for erosion.
I can't wait! Look at the tiny turtles!

Oooh, what beach? This was a big deal in the area where A was born. Fun fun story for you!
I went up to Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina (actually only about 40 miles from here). The baby turtles were so cute!
baby turtle soup...yummy!
And who is this "Julian" guy, and why is he posting comments on my blog?
Baby turtles were not made for petting. Please tell me you didn't pet them. You did pet them, didn't you? Will your petting never cease, woman? Stop with the petting!
Mole, you'd be proud of me. I did not touch the turtles. Not even a flipper.
It was hard, though.
