ok, well, that's great, except that 3 states voted to make same sex marriage illegal and one to not allow gay and lesbian parents the right to adopt and we elected one of two presidential candidates, neither of which support same sex marriage. I still feel like a second class citizen, and yes, you are right, this is the country we have always said we were.

Sad, but true.
I qualified it by saying "in some ways." This isn't the best America can be, but it's a hell of a lot closer than it was two days ago.
